New polling suggests Democrats continue to hold a comfortable lead in November generic ballot polls, Latinos are turning on Trump, and socialism is more popular among the public than the media lets on about.

Among all polls conducted during the month of November, Democrats have seen their share of the vote range from 41 percent to 53 percent, while Republicans have ranged from 36 percent to 47 percent.

However, the Democrats hold a lead over their Republican opponents anywhere between one point to fourteen points, suggesting the Democrats are enjoying a much higher ceiling than their governing colleagues across the floor.

Overall, the average of all polls conducted in November has the Democrats at 48 percent and the Republicans at 42 percent, suggesting the Democrats have a six point lead a little less than a year out from the November midterms.

If Republicans want a chance at surviving the midterms and keeping their majorities in the House and Senate, they are going to have to keep their 2024 coalition together, of which Latinos made up an integral part. However, new polling from Pew Research suggests Trump and the Republicans are losing support among Latinos, and rapidly too.

Among all Latinos, only 27 percent say they approve of the way Trump is handling his job as president, down from 36 percent in February. The largest declines occurred among non-voting Latinos, where approval for Trump dropped from 42 percent to 27 percent, and among 2024 Trump voters, dropping from 93 percent to 81 percent.

That same poll also found that 65 percent disapprove of the president’s handling of immigration, and another 61 percent say that Trump’s economic policies have made economic conditions in the United States worse.

Declining economic conditions are helping to fuel support for socialism among younger Americans, with a new TIPP poll suggesting a plurality of Americans agree with socialistic principles.

When asked, 42 percent of Americans agree with the principles of socialism, while 39 percent say they disagree with it. Another 19 percent say they are unsure how they feel, which for the American electorate on a question around socialism suggests a lot of potential growth for the movement.

Younger Americans were much more likely to agree with socialist principles, with 57 percent of those aged 18 to 24 and 52 percent of those aged 25 to 44 agreeing, while only 26 percent of those over 65 say the same.

Men are much more likely than women to agree with socialist principles at 50 percent to 34 percent, respectively, while Black and Hispanic voters were more likely than white voters to agree, at 50 percent to 38 percent.

Finally, 55 percent of Democrats agree with the principles of socialism, with the next closest partisan identification group not being independents, but Republicans, at 39 percent. Independents were the least likely to agree with socialist principles, as laid out in the question, at 31 percent.
