Newly released polling from Clarity Campaign Labs suggests things are not going well for the Trump administration, and the negative impact it’s having on the Republican Party is tangible.

Donald Trump remains underwater on the favorability front, finding himself at -7%, which is only slightly better than his VP, who sits a point worse at -8%.

Gavin Newsom is the only figure in the survey to find himself above water at +1%, although 33% are either unsure or don’t know who the California governor is.

However, the one piece of data that stands out from other polling firms is that the Democrats actually find themselves above water at +1%, while the Republicans remain overall sour at -7%. Most other pollsters have found the Democrats deep in the dumps, with CNBC’s latest poll putting the party at -33%, as just one example.

On the issues front, Trump continues to struggle. On national security, the president is above water at +5%.

Yet on more pressing and wide-ranging issues, like the economy and jobs, Trump is twelve points in the hole, with 54% of Americans disapproving of his handling of the issue. Likewise, inflation and the cost of living continue to dog the president, with 61% of Americans disapproving of his handling, while only 36% approve.

The only issue with an even lower level of approval for Trump is the Epstein investigation, which only 27% of Americans approve of his handling.

Speaking of Epstein, let’s take a closer look at that issue, alongside how Americans are feeling about the economy and the long-range trend of Trump’s job approval.
