Democrats Lead On Every Major Issue
Democrats are outpacing Republicans on the economy, healthcare, and more as public trust shifts
While the Trump administration is plagued by the Epstein files, a sluggish economy, and stubborn inflation, new polling suggests the Democrats are enjoying a bump in the polls.
AtlasIntel’s latest survey found Democrats leading Republicans on nearly all issues, while also dominating their conservative rivals on economic topics. They asked respondents which party they trust more to handle each issue, with the Democrats’ strongest area being the environment. Fifty-eight percent say they trust Democrats most on this issue, compared to 31 percent who say the same for Republicans.
The Democrats also outperform the Republicans on healthcare, education, foreign policy, and even immigration, showing just how much the Trump administration has soured public opinion.
Democrats are firmly ahead on all issues related to the economy, polling at 51 to 52 percent on topics like the job market, trade, inflation, and economic inequality. Republicans are struggling to break above 44 percent on these fronts.
While it’s expected that Democrats would do well on certain issues, the wide lead they hold over Republicans is still striking.
In their latest survey, AtlasIntel found that 51 percent of respondents would vote Democrat if the midterm elections were held today, compared to 43 percent for Republicans. This gives the Democrats an 8-point lead, or 8.4 percent to be exact.
One potentially good sign for Democrats is the near-even split among white Americans, with 47 percent supporting Republicans and 46 percent backing Democrats. They also hold a comfortable lead among Hispanic and Black Americans.
More importantly, the poll shows Democrats picking up 62 percent of independent voters, which goes a long way in explaining their 8-point advantage.
