AOC Surges Ahead of Schumer in New York Senate Primary Polling
New polls show AOC leading Schumer among most NY Democrats, sparking 2028 speculation.
After Chuck Schumer’s pathetic display of caving to Republicans on a continuing resolution back in March, calls for his removal have only intensified.
Polling from Data for Progress and the Honan Strategy Group now suggests that Schumer is trailing House Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Senate polling for New York.
Data for Progress’ March poll found that New York Democrats viewed both AOC and Schumer favorably overall, with AOC at 75% favorable and Schumer at 62%.
The key difference between the two lies in their unfavorable ratings, as Schumer’s unfavorables are more than double AOC’s, 36% compared to 16%. Schumer is also the most disliked Democrat in the state, with Governor Kathy Hochul coming in second at 29%.
While AOC isn’t the most popular Democrat in New York, she comes close. With a 75% favorable rating, only two other Democrats rank higher: Kamala Harris (81%) and Bernie Sanders (83%).
The head-to-head polling from these surveys is eye-opening, showing Schumer trailing AOC by a comfortable margin.
