Welcome to the Polling USA House model for January 4, 2026!

Boy, what a helluva start to 2026 this has been, huh? We will touch on that shortly.

The latest model update, which will now shift into weekly updates heading into this year’s midterms, has the Democrats expanding their lead over the Republicans once again.

Democrats now sit nearly six points ahead of the Republicans on the generic ballot average, which results in the Democrats rising five seats since December 21 to end at 238. Meanwhile, the Republicans drop five seats to finish at 197 this week.

Let’s chat about some of the recent polls, and cover the model results further!
